John Carew has told his Norway team-mate John Arne Riise to get away from Liverpool's persistent squad rotation and join him at Aston Villa. Riise has been in and out of Rafael Benitez' side recently, falling behind Alvaro Arbeloa in the pecking order at left-back and failing to secure a regular starting role on the wing.
And Martin O'Neill is thought to be a long-term admirer of Riise and Carew has urged the 27-year-old to jump at the chance of a move to Villa Park should O'Neill firm up his interest with a bid in January.
Is Risse set to leave this at the end of the season ?
